What is Google Adsense?
Google AdSense is a contextual advertising program run by Google Inc. Google earns its revenue by allowing other website owners to advertise text, image and video advertisements on their search result pages. This program is called Google Adwords.
You will be able to earn a share of the advertising revenue that Google earns from Adwords by displaying these ads on your site, with some investment of your time. So in a way, you are helping Google advertise and getting paid a percentage of what they earn.
How Adsense work?
The ads that Google delivers to your site are relevant to your site’s content. For example, if you have a website or a page that talks about your pet dog, Google will place ads about pet stores, dog food, dog grooming etc on your site. Hopefully your visitors will be interested in those ads and will click on them, which will earn you a few cents and sometimes a few dollars for each click.
How To Apply For An Adsense Account?
Before applying for a Google Adsense account, you have to make sure that your website or blog is qualified enough to apply for an Adsense account. If you don’t already have a website, you can register a blogspot account with Blogger.com. In case you didn’t know, Blogger.com is owned by Google. Think of a name for your blog which is relevant to the topics that you are going to write about.
The next thing to do is to start posting your blogs. Building a blog with useful contents in order to attract general visitors will have a good chance of approval from Google Adsense. Make your post every few days but you may want to post daily should you want your Adsense approved instantaneously. Make sure that you have at least 15 posts before applying for Google Adsense. When you are ready to apply, simply go to http://adsense.google.com and fill in the required information.
Once your application is approved, you can add the Adsense code to your blogspot as well as your other websites.
